La Luna is launching us into the New Year . . . (Warning: This post is filled with lots of unnecessary alliteration).
January 1, 2017 is a day brimming with Cancerian energy, which rules the home, emotions, and family life. But this isn’t just any Full Moon in Cancer; there are quite a few astrological (and numerological!) events surrounding this Moon, resulting in a unique Lunar Energy that packs a powerful punch.
Let’s begin with the Moon Phase – a Full Moon on January 1st? Yes please! And not just any Full Moon, a SuperMoon! What is a SuperMoon, you ask? Well, put super simply, A SuperMoon appears brighter and larger than usual, because of its close proximity to Earth.
Aaaaand, this is not just any SuperMoon! This is due to be the biggest and brightest SuperMoon of 2018, so if you’re not already in the habit of Moon watching, be sure to get a glimpse of this one (and show the kiddos)!
In Astrology, when the Moon is in Cancer, we say that the Moon is “exalted”, meaning that it thrives or is “most comfortable” in this sign. Both the Moon and Cancer are associated with:
- Feminine Energy
- Intuition and Introspection
- Motherhood and Nurturing Tendencies
- Home and Family Life
- Fertility and Creativity
- Emotions and Moods
The energy in these areas are likely to be AMPLIFIED during this time, especially with it being a SuperMoon. This is a great time to tend to matters relating to the home, and to check in with the dynamics between you and those in your care.
Any resolutions or intentions you have in these areas would benefit GREATLY from action steps taken toward their fruition during this energetic window. Yes, everything will be closed as it’s New Year’s Day, and you may be recovering from festivities from the night before, but you can do something, ANYTHING.
From a Numerological perspective, 2018 is a “2” year, from an “11”. That is:
2+0+1+8 = 11, 1+1 = 2
The vibration of 11 is that of ATTRACTION; that is, your thoughts are quickly manifesting into form. I find it interesting that the common practice is for one to make a wish whenever they see “11:11” on the clock. Whenever I see 11, I take it as a reminder to guard my thoughts, as they already have, or will soon be, coming into form. To that end, it makes sense to make a wish, so that you can refocus your thoughts on what you truly desire.
Oh, and did I mention that January 1st is on a Monday, the day of the Moon – Moon Day? Or, if you prefer French, Lundi, or Luna Day 🙂
