It’s a New Moon, and – Chinese New Year! As we leave the Year of the Fire Rooster and enter the Year of the Earth Dog, we also enter into the season of Pisces… Add to this the potent transformative effects of the Partial Solar Eclipse, and we have a very powerful time for immense change.
When the Moon is “New” in Airy Aquarius, it’s generally a great time to form new relationships, i.e., make new friends or spark up a new love interest; consider new humanitarian activities (tithing, fundraising, making donations); and especially come up with new ideas or explore new ways of thinking.
This particular New Moon in Aquarius however, really emphasizes all of these areas and particularly has a lot of energy for those who are looking to release old ways of being with others, as well as old ways of being with oneself.
Specifically, this is a time to:
- Re-evaluate all existing relationships, and potentially let go of those that no longer work (on either side)
- Expand your social circle or form new business contacts
- If committed, consider how you can rejuvenate and refresh your relationship to keep it going strong
- Surrender vices, bad habits, and negative thought patterns to Source or a Higher Power, either via prayer or ritual
And, in the spirit of the Chinese New Year, if you haven’t already sat down with yourself and planned out how you want to experience 2018, now’s as good a time as ever! There’s so much going around about “going with the flow” and letting Jesus take the wheel and whatnot, but it’s still important to plan and stay rooted in the real world. Flow, yes – but don’t let yourself just idly flow down into a waterfall to your doom, so to speak.
Derek Rydall puts it beautifully when he says, “Plan your life as if you are doing the work, but live your life as if God is”. I’ve been listening to it over the past few days, and I can already feel the fire being lit from within 🙂
