When using essential oils, dilution is everything! If you can understand the basics of dilution, you’ll be well on your way to practicing Aromatherapy like a pro and being your own essential oil expert.
Essential oil dilution is a foundational practice in Aromatherapy; in fact, according to David Crow (founder of Floracopeia), “Aromatherapy is basically the process of diluting everything back down so it becomes biocompatible [usable by the body] again”. At its very core, Aromatherapy is, and has always been, the art and science of diluting essential oils so that you can create effective natural medicines that you can tailor to your specific needs.
The following dilution chart was created just for you, and is especially useful for topical blends (although you can use the same values for creating essential oil sprays as well). Feel free to save the image it to your phone for handy reference. You may also share it online or on social media, just be sure to include a link back to the original post 🙂
