New Moon in Scorpio

New Moon in Scorpio by Timmie Horvath Policarpio Wanechko Certified Aromatherapist Aromatherapy Essential Oils Edmonton Reiki Training Crystal Healing

Still waters run deep . . . It’s Scorpio time! This heady, intense Zodiac Sign adds a powerful punch to the energies of renewal from this New Moon.

Most people are aware that Scorpio is represented by the scorpion, but it is also represented by another creature: the phoenix. This myopic focus on the scorpion often gives Scorpio energy a bad rap, and this sign is often pigeonholed as obsessive, resentful, jealous, and well – dark.

Scorpions are soft and vulnerable on the inside, with a hard exterior; but unlike their watery counterpart, the crab (the Sign of Cancer), scorpions are known to sting as both an offensive and defensive tactic. Scorpio energy has boundaries, and the days surrounding the New Moon in Scorpio are ideal for solitude, introspective journaling, and analytical meditation.

Now, let’s focus on the other symbol of Scorpio, the phoenix. This mythological bird is known to periodically self-combust, only to be reborn from the ashes, completely renewed. The phoenix symbolizes transformation, power, inner strength, and these are all qualities that are inherent in Scorpio. The natural tendency towards obsession and fixation can be either healthy or unhealthy, the choice is yours.

The energy of Scorpio fills the air with the potential for incredible change through deep focus and commitment. Being a sign of mystery, Scorpio energy also urges us to read between the lines and to cultivate compassion for others, as this energy influences all of us and blurs our abilities to communicate in a straightforward way (Virgo season is long gone by now!).

Ultimately, Scorpio reminds us that like the phoenix, we can choose to transform and renew ourselves at any time. In addition, Scorpio is extremely comfortable in the realm of the unseen, making this the perfect time to explore the metaphysical arts.

The following activities are enhanced by the energy of the New Moon in Scorpio. Let this list be an inspiration for you over the next few weeks.

  • Energy healing – practice or learn!
  • Practice your favourite form of divination (Tarot, runes, oracle cards, etc.)
  • Journaling based on prompts (answering questions rather than freewriting)
  • Extra time in solitude
  • Guided meditation journeys
  • Swimming or other water-based activities

As you explore the depths of your unconscious, remember to be kind to you yourself; keep your awareness tethered to reality, so that you can avoid getting lost in an obsessive spiral. Scorpio energy can fuel positive change and renewal, but you must choose to make it so!

Blessings,
