Wellness Tips for Scorpio Season: Yoga, Crystals & Essential Oils by Timmie Horvath Policarpio Wanechko Certified Aromatherapist Aromatherapy Essential Oils Edmonton Reiki Training Crystal Healing

Welcome to Scorpio Season! Scorpio is the enigmatic Water Sign of the Zodiac, symbolized by the Scorpion and the Phoenix, and as these creatures suggest, Scorpio is steeped in the energy of regeneration. Fun fact: Most people are aware that the Phoenix constantly rebirths itself, but the Scorpion is virtually inviolate, and will be one of the last creatures to survive any calamity (much like the cockroach).

To that end, Scorpio people typically have very strong immune systems, tend to be very healthy, and have incredible physical endurance. Those that have Scorpio tendencies are naturally drawn to vigorous activities, and because they thrive on intensity, tend to perform very well, creating a positive feedback loop.

However, Scorpio people also have a penchant for keeping to themselves, even when they need to reach out, meaning that they will rarely ask for help when needed. Be aware of overuse injuries, burnout, and unhealthy competitive tendencies.

If you have Scorpio people in your life, keep an eye out for any illnesses or injuries that might be brewing underneath the surface; they may never be the first to mention it, so you might have to be the one to make the first move and offer to help (nicely! That Scorpio sting tho!).

On the body, Scorpio rules the reproductive and eliminatory organs, and is also the domain of sexuality and reproductive health. We can see this here in Canada, where November is the month of “Movember”, a ‘stache movement that raises awareness and promotes fundraising for prostate and testicular cancer.

This month, our wellness tips will focus on increasing mobility and flexibility in our pelvic region, exploring activities that push our physical limits, essential oils that up the sensuality, and crystals that transmute negative energy.

Yoga & Fitness for Scorpio Season

Scorpio rules the reproductive and eliminatory organs, so asanas that increase circulation in these areas would be ideal. These include:

  • Legs Up the Wall (all leg variations)
  • Reclined Bound Angle Pose
  • Bridge
  • Knees-to-Chest Pose (double and single knee variations)
  • Cobra

Scorpio is a Water Sign, but unlike Cancer, Scorpio loves intensity. Water-based activities might be suitable, as long as they’re vigorous (such as lane swimming), but to really get into the Scorpio groove, you might want to explore something more intense, such as a Spin, Bootcamp, Interval Training, or Boxing.

Crystals for Scorpio Season

Scorpio energy calls for powerful crystals, such as Obsidian, Jet, Onyx, Black Tourmaline, Black Opal, and Ruby. These crystals hold the energy of transmutation and regeneration, and are known for deflecting negative energy.

The idea, mind you, is not to use these crystals to protect you from others’ energy, but to protect yourself from, well, yourself. Clear your energy, sharpen your mind, and stay grounded; only then can you be the light for others.

Essential Oils for Scorpio Season

For this month’s essential oil recommendations, we’re going to focus on the “pleasure principle”. Essential oils that stimulate sensuality and boost your mood, such as Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Rose, and Bergamot are great places to start – but any essential oil (single or blend) that puts you in a good mood will get you in the Scorpio vibe!

A Flower Essence for Scorpio Season

The Bach flower remedy, Oak (Quercus Robur), is the remedy of choice for this season. Oak flower essence is helpful for times when you feel overwhelmed and exhausted, but still feel the need to power through, whether due to a sense of obligation or external pressure. Whether you feel like you’re on the brink of burnout, or are already there, Oak can carry you through.

Herbs for Scorpio Season

Scorpio’s intensity and regenerative effects calls for raspberry leaf! Raspberry leaf is well-known for providing support to female reproductive organs, leading many people to overlook is its dense nutritional profile. Raspberry leaf is high in Vitamin C, making it a valuable ally in boosting your immune system. Raspberry leaf has been pigeonholed as a “pregnancy” or more specifically, a “labour-inducing” herb, but raspberry leaf is beneficial to all folks at any stage of life. However, there has been some anecdotal evidence of raspberry leaf inducing miscarriage. If you are pregnant, I would recommend you check with your OB/GYN or primary healthcare provider before consuming raspberry leaf tea (or any other raspberry leaf preparation).

Blessings, my starry-eyed friends! I hope you enjoy Scorpio Season 🙂
