Land Acknowledgment

At Sacred Wellness School of Healing Arts, we humbly acknowledge that the land on which we gather, learn, teach, and heal is Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and traveling route for the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux Peoples. We recognize the deep historical and spiritual connections that these Nations have with this territory.

We understand that acknowledging the land is an act of reconciliation, acknowledging our responsibility in the partnership with the original caretakers of these lands. Through this acknowledgment, we express our respect for the Indigenous Peoples' enduring relationship with Mother Earth, and we commit to moving forward in the spirit of partnership, respect, and community.

As we share knowledge and wisdom about holistic health and energy medicine, we also strive to learn from the rich cultural practices and healing traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of this land. We believe in honoring these traditions and integrating this knowledge respectfully into our curriculum, with the guidance and wisdom of Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers.

In the spirit of healing and education, we vow to actively participate in the process of reconciliation, acknowledging the historical and ongoing injustices that Indigenous Peoples face. Through our actions and teachings, we aspire to contribute to the healing and reconciliation process on this land.

We thank the past, present, and future generations of these Indigenous Nations for their stewardship of the land and water that sustains us all. May we all walk gently and respectfully on this land, recognizing and honoring its sacredness.
