What a time to be alive…
A Full Moon in the jovial Sign of Sagittarius is a time of fulfillment, idealism, and expansion. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also known as the “Strawberry Moon”.
Sagittarius Season (when the Moon is NEW in Sag) is around Christmas time, so an easy way to remember the energy of Sag is simply to remember that Sag Time = Christmas Time!
Let me illustrate:
Sagittarius/Christmas vibes usually bring abundance (receiving and gifts, both expected and unexpected), connection (gathering with loved ones and/or partying with new people), travel (vacations, work trips, going “back home”), and celebration in general. See the correlation?
Remember the Christmas movie, Love Actually? All of the characters went out on a limb and took a huge risk in the name of love, simply because it was Christmas! And on Christmas, you tell the truth and follow your heart. Love Actually is the ultimate Sag movie, IMHO.
Of course, since we are now under a Full Moon in Sag, it means we are actually in Gemini Season, so we’re just heading into Summer, and it is most definitely not Christmas. It doesn’t matter.
When the Moon is Full, it amplifies the energy of the Sign that it’s in, so what we have is an amplification of energy that’s already amped up to begin with.
The major themes to keep in mind for the Full Moon in Sagittarius are:
People born under the Sign of Sag are typically known for their brutal honesty and tactlessness; this energy is in free-for-all right now, so take everything with a grain of salt.
On your own side, you may want to consider abiding by The Four Gates of Speech:
- Is it true?
- Is it necessary?
- Is it kind?
- Is it the right time?
If what you want to say passes through these four gates, then you may proceed. Sag time is a great time to renew your commitment to The Four Gates of Speech – year-round!
The Desire to Move
The travel bug is rampant, and you may be feeling huge wanderlust; or you may simply be feeling restless in your job, home, or circumstance. Remember to play the long game and to carefully weigh out the pros and cons of any major decision, especially if it involves a major move or a long time away.
This energy also extends to moving your body in general – a great way to channel and focus this energy is by allowing yourself to explore new surroundings, or take your workout outdoors. In the Northern Hemisphere, this is a beautiful time of year for hikes and forest walks, and who knows – outdoor activity may be all you need to ease your restlessness.
Sagittarius people know how to make time for fun, and how to celebrate the good things. Allow yourself to be happy, and to do the things that make you happy.
Bring some lightness into your life: spend time with funny people, watch rom-coms with a guaranteed happy ending, and read funny books (anything by Ellen Degeneres or Tina Fey will have you in stitches).
Lightheartedness is key to making sure that you don’t get emotionally fatigued by your responsibilities, which is key for the final theme…
As Will Smith’s Genie in Aladdin says, “There’s a lotta grey area there…”. Freedom can mean many things, and now is the time to think about the areas of your life where you feel trapped or stuck, and what you can do about it.
When it comes to expansion and freedom, you have to think long term. Again, play the long game. What are the actions that you can take now to ensure your stability (and therefore, your freedom) in the future?
For example, going back to school, or keeping your head down in an entry-level job may feel stifling in the moment, but if you do your best and stick with it, your return will be far greater and more sustainable.
Okay, so we clearly have a lot of ACTIVE energy here! Reel it in, channel it, shoot for the Moon, and have fun while doing so.
Happy Sag Full Moon!
