The New Moon in Capricorn occurs at the end of the year, and the tail end of the astrological season. It is an “old” sign, and resonates with the archetypal energy of the Elder and the Wise One.
The vibe under a Capricorn Moon is that of control, leadership, and competence – especially in professional matters. Capricorn energy is well known for being grounded and focused, and tapping into this vibe will give you the drive and guidance needed to take your life to the next level.
This is magickal, resolution type of energy! It’s no coincidence that the New Moon in Capricorn occurs just before the new year. But while Capricorn has a reputation for being a ruthless pragmatist, this Sign is also a deep dreamer, and encourages you to think BIG, and know that there is little that can’t be accomplished with a good plan!
Capricorn is symbolized by a “mer-goat”: a goat with the lower body of a fish. This creature is of both Earth and Water, and its ability to stay grounded in two worlds points to Capricorn’s ability to thrive in any environment.
When the Moon is New in Capricorn, it’s the time to sit down and strategize for the month: What would you like to accomplish over the next few weeks, months, or the entire year?
A few weeks ago, we had the Full Moon in Gemini, during which we did the “100 Goals” manifesting exercise; now, having this list in mind, it’s time to outline the steps you need to accomplish some of those goals.
However, rather than give you another list-building exercise (you’ll be inundated with enough of those this time of year), I’d like to encourage you to simply relax, recharge, and dream. Simply set the intention to gain clarity and control over your future.
Over the next few days as the Moon begins to wax, this energy will build, further crystallizing your intention. When you’ve allowed yourself to fully recharge, you’ll have the energy and the vision to chart your course.
Be wary of the shadow aspects of Capricorn, which include anxiety, obsessive-behaviour, and the tendency to start spewing unsolicited advice; these stem from Capricorn’s incessant need to be in control and to be the one in charge. While these are admirable traits, they need a proper channel; remember, the only person you need to control is yourself. Do this, and everything else will follow.
I’d like to take this opportunity now to thank you for reading this post, and for all of my previous lunar astrology posts this year! I’ve taken great pleasure in researching the stars and tapping into the energy, to create what’s hopefully been both a strategic and intuitive perspective on the current lunar energies.
For my own personal New Moon in Capricorn intention, I plan to continue to continue to write regular Astro Insights, but at a much higher level 🙂
Again, thank you so much for your readership. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and I’m wishing you all the best in the New Year!
